Aged care consultants in Melbourne

AgeWorks began as aged care consultants in Melbourne and has operated for almost 20 years. We are experts in compliance with new age care standards, and ensuring our clients implement them effectively in both residential aged care and home care. We also provide assistance to organisations across Australia who are facing sanctions and need to remediate their situation as soon as possible.

Our Difference and the New Aged Care Standards

The aged care industry is complex. It is highly regulated, very competitive, has high operational risk and a workforce that frequently changes. AgeWorks aims to simplify aged care. Our core strengths are:

AgeWorks has specialised training programs and coaching to improve aged care leadership and team resilience. We understand that the quality of care and the services you provide are critical to staying in business. You need an engaged workforce to consistently deliver the service.

AgeWorks has a thorough understanding of the operational, clinical and accreditation requirements for a well-managed aged care organisation that consumers prefer. We make time to understand your organisation, the challenges you face and what makes you unique. The changes required to improve may be simple, but not easy, to implement. AgeWorks partners with you to create sustainable outcomes for your organisation and the people it serves.

Our Mission

Our mission is to partner with clients who are genuinely committed to improving the quality of life for vulnerable older people in their community. We support those who are prepared to do things differently, be innovative in what they do and how they do it.

We’re on a mission to expand possibility and create cultural change.

Kay Horgan

Kay Horgan aged care consultant Melbourne

Kay is passionate about the contribution of Elders.  She is a pioneer in aged care with a vision for a more enlightened society that ensures Elders continue to lead meaningful lives, wherever they may live.  She believes that the current aged care system is broken, failing to get the best out of people.

Having extensive on the ground experience, she has important insights into common problems that block managers and their teams from being their best. She believes that each individual has a unique part to play in healing the aged care world. Chris Corcos

Chris Corcos psychiatrist and aged care consultant

Chris qualified in medicine in London in 1987.  His Australian psychiatric training included education and instruction from industry experts Henry Brodarty and Brian Draper. Chris is a member of the British Royal College of Psychiatrists and a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.

In recent years Chris has visited nursing homes that struggle to access medical specialists. Families have sought his guidance in reviewing their folk on multiple medications (polypharmacy), with an aim toward best practise, which, in age care, is now de-prescribing.  Chris consults to G.P.s, providing them specialist support to rationally and safely prescribe psychiatric medications, or, where possible, de-prescribing.

Integrative Medical practitioners have expertise that is particularly relevant in care of the elderly, not just for a deeper evaluation of the person’s health status, but for their more holistic management, and the prescription of safer treatments.  Chris has studied with the Australasian Integrative Medicine Association (AIMA), the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM), and the Australasian Institute for Medical Nutrition (AIMNutrition).  He runs a small private practice at the National Institute of Integrative Medicine (NIIM), based in Hawthorn, Melbourne. Chris is also a qualified educator and experienced teacher and presenter.
