Various inquiries since 2017 have highlighted elder abuse and issues with disability care. Wider awareness led to the The Royal Commission Into Aged Care Quality and Safety which began in 2018. The findings of the interim report were presented to government in October 2019. The full report is due November 2020 – read the Quick Guide for more information.

Kay is an advocate for the rights of older people and believes many aged care facilities are doing the right thing. However, some organisations struggle with operational compliance changes, staffing, funding and a more competitive market. See this page more information on aged care standards and non-compliance with the new standards.

Kay welcomes media interviews and is passionate supporter of elders and giving them a voice.
